In March 2005 the restoration of the roof was finished and water no longer entered the church every time it rained.

Further Work Completed

2007

Andrea Kirkham, the conservator has completed the cleaning and stabilising of the remaining wall panels.

Devlin Plummer, specialist glaziers removed the two clear glass windows on the north side of the nave (not the one behind the organ) and the window on the west side of the porch. They were taken back to his workshop so that the lead work could be renewed and the glazing replaced as required, they were then replaced in the church.

The mesh screens have been removed from some of the stained glass windows. This has enabled the rust stains to be cleaned off the stonework and new black coated stainless steel protection installed. We are grateful to those who have worked under Dave Ray’s tutelage to do this work. We are also grateful to the ‘Friends of Bardwell Church’ who have funded it.

2008

A small dedicated team of volunteers spent many months redecorating the interior of the church which was badly in need of painting. The lime plaster and lime wash has been paid for by The Friends of Bardwell Church.

The floor of the chancel has been thoroughly and professionally cleaned and sealed.
